Jagjit Singh’s death at the age of 70 in Mumbai has shocked the music fraternity in Pune. Singers and music composers in the city were of the opinion that Jagjit had taken the magic of ghazals to the common man.

According to well-known composer Salil Kulkarni, besides being an excellent ghazal singer, Jagjit also had an extraordinary voice. “He was blessed with a soft and soothing voice, which was one of the best voices in our country. Ghazals were earlier limited to the elite, but he made it simple for the common man,” he said.

        The Apple II, which hit the market in 1977, was their first machine for the masses. It became so popular that Jobs was worth $100 million by age 25. Time magazine put him on its cover for the first time in 1982.

MUMBAI: The singing diva of Bollywod Lata Mangeshkar will add one more feather to her cap when she receive the 'Hridaynath award' from Amitabh Bachchan for her contribution in the sector of music .
Bachchan will present the award to Lata Mangeshkar on Sept 28 when the singer will also celebrate her 82nd birthday. The award is instituted by Mumbai-based socio-cultural organisation named Hridayesh Arts.
Mangeshkar has mesmeriesed her fans with innumerable songs in her long career. She captured the hearts of her audience by singing few of the popular tracks in Bollywod films like Baiju Bawra , Mughal-e-Azam , Kohinoor, Aag, Aah, Shree 420, and Chori Chori,
In the past years too she regaled listeners with songs of Devdas, Mujhse Dosti Karoge, Veer-Zaara and Lagaan.
